|Bio||Maria Lindsay (violin) has performed internationally with great orchestras such as Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Australian World Orchestra. Her great love of the solo violin takes her to venues large and small, such as Sydney Opera House, Sydney Town Hall, Kangaroo Valley Arts Festival, Bowral Autumn Music Festival etc.. For 6 years she directed her own house concert series: Blackheath House Concerts, and she loves communicating with the audience in the intimate environment that house concerts provide. Her style is personal, engaging and entertaining. She performs genres from classical to tango, contemporary and commercial. Maria is equally at home performing a Concerto with orchestra and playing well-loved gems or rousing latin standards to a small room of listeners. Maria is also a sought-after guest concertmaster on the orchestral scene. She brings to HCA world-class partners such as pianists Josephine Allan and Daniel Rojas, and her ensembles Orquesta La Luna and Lurline Chamber Orchestra. The legendary Tommy Tycho composed an exquisite Violin Concerto for Maria. Looking back, she was Student of the Year at Sydney Conservatorium, graduating with High Distinction, before continuing her studies in Vienna.
