|Additional information||Old Thomson Brook Church, the former St Thomas Anglican Church, is a beautiful historic building just south of Donnybrook, surrounded by natural bush and rolling hills.
Finished in 1909 with bricks handmade on site and jarrah trimmings, it has been de-consecrated and is currently used for wedding ceremonies, art exhibitions, photo shoots, and small celebrations. It has already hosted a few musical performances.
The building and surrounds are available to use for free for small music events. It has great acoustics and a lovely ambience suited to the quieter music styles.
As the building does not have electricity or plumbing, events are best held during the day, and the only cost to the musicians is to hire a portable toilet and to provide their own generator if electricity is required. The space is small enough that amps and speakers are not required.
Depending on the space the musicians require, the church seats 50-60 people. There is plenty of space outside the church for the audience to have a picnic either before or after the event. We can also recommend a caterer who has previously catered at the venue, should catering be part of the event, and party hire equipment is available for a very reasonable rate.
